Beth Goldblatt recently attended a conference on 'Women's Social Security and Protection in India'. The conference was jointly hosted by the Australian Human Rights Centre, Faculty of Law, UNSW, the Programme for Women's Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (PWESCR), the International Labor Organisation (ILO), UN Women and the Heinrich Boll Stiftung. It took place on 6-7 May at the Indian Social Institute in New Delhi, India. Beth presented a paper on 'Women and the Right to Social Security - the International Human Rights Framework'. Beth was also involved in the conceptualisation, fundraising and planning of the conference. The workshop included about 140 participants from 16 states across India and dealt with a range of complex and diverse issues facing women in the sub-continent.
