Brigid Inder has been appointed as the Gender Adviser to the ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda

Friend of the AHRCentre, Brigid Inder, has been appointed as the Gender Adviser to the ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda. Brigid is the Executive Director of the Women’s Initiatives for Gender Justice, an international women's human rights organisation that advocates for accountability for gender-based crimes through the ICC and domestic mechanisms, and also promotes gender justice issues within post-conflict peace negotiations and local justice processes. On appointing Brigid, Prosecutor Bensouda said "Ms. Inder is a renowned expert on gender issues and brings to this post a deep knowledge of the cases, policies and the institutional history of the ICC”.

Brigid was a key participant at the AHRCentre's Justice for All? Conference earlier this year and with colleagues from the WIGJ ran a capacity building workshop workshop for the AHRCentre on women's rights activists from the region on The Rome Statute and the ICC – tools for advancing justice.
